Hello everyone,
I have a problem and I took the console apart to clean it and in the process I broke a connector for the drive. My question is: can I still play if I put everything back together like that, except that the drive won't works anymore? Or do I get an error message and can't do anything? I would be very grateful to you

    1. Model of your PS5?

For older PS5 disc models, system update may fail without a working disc reader. Can search: PS5 update with broken disc reader, where most of them complain it errors or won’t update. It is possible to fix your connector with soldering iron, more tricky as the connection pads appears to be ripped out.

PS5 slim model CFI-2000 series should be able to complete system update without a disc reader, as disc reader can be easily added, changed, and removed.
